Join a weekend of Celtic Celebration.

On Saturday Morning from 9.00 am
In the CAMBRIDGE TOWN HALL
~ displays and stalls from various Community and Celtic societies / activities.

At CAMBRIDGE TOWN HALL
~ Solo piping and drumming competitions from 1.30pm. Pipe-Band concert.

On
Saturday Afternoon
In the CAMBRIDGE TOWN HALL
~ A Piping recital by a renown South island piper from 4.30pm

On
Saturday Evening from 7.30 pm
~ In the CAMBRIDGE TOWN HALL there will be a Celtic Dance / Ceilidh

Wear your kilt,
or something tartan,
even your "HeyJimmy" hat,
or your own national dress.
Bring your "hieland coo" with you
(or Aberdeen Angus or Belted Galloway, Murray Grey or Texas Long Horn,
or maybe you'd like to park your Clydie 'n cart.
Or wander around with that neat "shelagh" on you're keeping company with.
Drag along your Scotch terriers,
or be dragged by your Irish wolf hounds.
Even bring your tame haggis (but please keep it on a leash!).
Come in your Scottish, Irish or Welsh National outfit.

Or Scandanavian, Bretagne, Egerlander or Spanish-Gallician national costume.
Contribute to the atmosphere and celebrate your northern heritage.

Come to Cambridge for the whole of Saturday and the evening..... 30th June.

Tartan Day 2001

A Tartan Day celebration will be held in Hamilton, NZ on Sunday afternoon, 1st July.
Location: Hamilton Cosmopolitan Club in Claudelands, on the east side of the river.
Time: 2.00pm - 6.00pm.
Programme: There will be Pipe Bands, Highland Dancers, Scottish Country dancers, singers and displays inside the Cosmopolitan Club facilities. Bar and Food available. After 6.00pm the normal Cosmopolitan Club facilities will be available with meals etc.
What is
Tartan Day? Tartan Day celebrates the day when the British Government lifted the 35 year old ban on the wearing and possession of tartan, the playing and possession of bagpipes and suppression of many other aspects of Highland Scottish culture.
In NZ Tartan Day is held celebrated on July 1st.
